Why are slippers called slippers :P coz they slip :D

Though there might be some usual explanation with them being called slippers, I would like to share my story of why indeed they are called slippers and that is because they slip, as you will find reading this post of mine, mind you, we were not wearing handroiday footwear but since we were at home at the time of this incident, we were wearing the normal daily wear slippers. 

So a few days ago our maid had just washed the staircase and it was still wet, my mom had to go downstairs for some work and did not realize the stairs were wet and so she slipped and went down a few stairs, my sister heard her fall and she panicked and went running to my mother, down the wet stair and she too slipped and went down a few stairs, hearing my sister run and shouting that mom had fallen down the stairs, I too went out running skidded on the first few stairs and landed on my bumps, so imagine this my mom sitting on the bottom of the stairs, my sister somewhere in the middle and me somewhere on the top of the stairs, all having fallen down, we forgot all our pain of falling down and looked at each other and started laughing like mad. 

In the crime movies police always comes when everything has already happened and they are too late to help, so is the the case with my Dad, he came out 5 minutes later and asked what happened and was about to step down the stairs and we all were like nooooooooo stay where you are and we started laughing like lunatics again and my dad was like have you all lost it?? 

So that's why slippers are called slippers cause they will help you slip :P  so do you guys have any funny story related to footwear to share with me?? then please do share :) would love to hear back from you. 

Do Not know your footwear size?? Lets see how this works

A year back before getting into this footwear selling business I did not know what my footwear size was and I remember once, a year back I was ordering a footwear online [Now I do not order any footwear coz that will be bad for business :D I just wear Handroidary :)] and could not figure out the footwear size chart and how to get my exact footwear size.I took an old shoe that I was wearing and measured its size and ended up ordering a shoe that was one size larger. 

I get a lot of inquiry from women like for eg, I wear size 9 in footwear what size should I order? what we do not realize is that footwear size is not size 6, 8, 9, 10, 11 etc particularly in Indian scenario the numbering of footwear vary as per individual makers whim.  

All the sizes are actually standardized size converted from centimeters so what you actually need to know is what is cms measurement of your feet and you can never go wrong in ordering your footwear size. 

Now how to measure your footwear size in cms? that's very simple, just take a scale and piece of paper, put your feet on the paper and mark the end of your thumb on the paper and the heel of your foot on the paper using a pen, now using the scale measure  the distance between these two points and that measurement is your footwear size, now say your feet size in cms is 24.3 cms so now which footwear size will you order? this is where the footwear size chart is going to help you. 

                                       

so if your footwear size is 24.3 cms, your footwear size in standard footwear sizes will be 38 EU or 5 UK/Indian or 7.5 US  as simple as this, now you know your footwear size and can never go wrong in ordering your footwear size. I too now know my exact footwear size which is 41 EU :)

November 23' 2015 : The very 1st post

Its 1:26 AM IST and I am still not feeling sleepy and the creativity bug has bitten me once again and my hands are itching to write something down and so here I am creating my 1st handroidary blog post.

Many of you have been buying our footwear and bangle combos from our website www.handroidary.in for almost a year now and I have loved every moment of the love that we have gotten from our beloved customers, some of you have come in direct touch with us by contacting us directly but there are still many who do not know us and there are yet more who we do not know and would love to interact with.

It would be just lovely to get to know some of the people who have come to like our products and hence I am starting this blog to post somethings about us, our business, what we do, what we love, what we hate and Interact with all of you to know you and to know what you like, what you do not like, what you love and what you hate.

Let me begin with telling somethings about me and us and hope that you will share your thoughts with us too

I am Mahima co-owner of Handroidary, I began this business along with my sister, mother & father last year, my sister got the brainwave of making fabric bangles and selling them as handicraft online, I took up the E end of the things and began making our facebook page and website etc. Bought the stuff to begin manufacturing bangles, got product photography done began posting on FB and the number one internet shopping portal in India and we waited with bated breaths to get some serious business and got really disappointed when only a few pairs got sold in the two-three months that followed.

We needed something more to grab attention of customers and stand out, what to do?? what to do?? what to do?? that was the constant thought going on in our minds, then we thought lets add footwear to our inventory and see if those sell, again nothing happened but this time seeing the bangles and footwear side by side, we thought hey!! why not sell them as combos and then began our business of selling footwear with matching bangle combos!! and wow!! we got the response we where waiting for and there were many of our designed combos that went out of stock with so much love and purchases from you guys and we hope to continue getting this love from all of you for years to come.
